Personal Travel highlight of a recent trip: On a recent cruise we received a tip on board to get up early the day we were arriving into Kotor, Montenegro. We woke early and went on deck. Our journey started as we moved at barely headway speed from the Gulf of Kotor into the Bay of Kotor. The rising sun slowly lifted the morning's fog revealing the fjord-like cliffs on either side of the ship. Everywhere we looked, the entire landscape surrounding us, was bathed in a golden glow...truly magical!
Favorite thing I try to do when I travel: I like to wander off the beaten path to discover how the local people live their day to day lives.
Best Travel Advice: As tempting as it is to take pictures of everything you see, take the time to really see everything with your own eyes. Put the camera down and enjoy the moment!
Best Client Rescue: Three family members discovered they could not find their passports the day prior to leaving for Europe. It was a scramble trying to find a passport office that could take care of their request for new passports on the spot, and required all three travelers flying from Florida to Minneapolis to get the job done. Fortunately, it was a success and they left the next day for Europe, on schedule.
Most memorable Client trip: A family of 12, ranging in age from 14 to 84, traveled to Paris and also visited surrounding cities for 10 days. The following is an excerpt from the clients upon returning home: I want to give you my sincerest thanks for planning and handling everything on our Paris trip. It was beyond compare. Everything was excellent in every way. For 12 people to be traveling can be hard and with my lack of time to pay proper attention to the itinerary and travel plans, it could have turned into a disaster in many ways. But your planning and attention to detail made it wonderful. I did not have to worry about a thing before, during, and after. The hotel was marvelous. The restaurants wonderful. The itinerary wonderful. The guides AMAZING! I don't know how to thank you.
Favorite Destination: To date, I would have to say Italy is my favorite destination. From the iconic landmarks in Rome, to the canals and bridges in Venice, to the museums and art in Florence…there is so much to see and do, and all can be experienced on foot. Fantastic!
Dream Trip: My dream trip would be a visit to Cape Town and the beautiful wine lands of South Africa; a cable car up to Table Mountain; game drives in the Kruger National Park in search of the "Big Five"ÂÂÂ with maybe a sighting of a cub or two; luxurious lodge accommodations in the bush; sun downers before heading out on an evening game drive; a visit to the spectacular Victoria Falls, first a walking tour and then a view overhead from a helicopter; and a sunset cruise on the Zambezi River!
Bucket List to do's: (1) African Safari staying in Luxury lodges; (3) The Arctic - Polar Bear Expedition; (3) River Cruise during the Christmas markets; (4) Machu Picchu in Peru and Easter Island; the Taj Mahal at sunrise and sunset; (5) Australia and New Zealand; (6) Norwegian Fjords; (7) the Grand Canyon
