Personal Travel highlight of a recent trip: On a recent cruise we received a tip on board to get up early the day we were arriving into Kotor, Montenegro. We woke early and went on deck. Our journey started as we moved at barely headway speed from the Gulf of Kotor into the Bay of Kotor. The rising sun slowly lifted the morning's fog revealing the fjord-like cliffs on either side of the ship. Everywhere we looked, the entire landscape surrounding us, was bathed in a golden glow...truly magical!

Favorite thing I try to do when I travel: I like to wander off the beaten path to discover how the local people live their day to day lives.

Best Travel Advice: As tempting as it is to take pictures of everything you see, take the time to really see everything with your own eyes. Put the camera down and enjoy the moment!

Best Client Rescue: Three family members discovered they could not find their passports the day prior to leaving for Europe. It was a scramble trying to find a passport office that could take care of their request for new passports on the spot, and required all three travelers flying from Florida to Minneapolis to get the job done. Fortunately, it was a success and they left the next day for Europe, on schedule.

Most memorable Client trip: A family of 12, ranging in age from 14 to 84, traveled to Paris and also visited surrounding cities for 10 days. The following is an excerpt from the clients upon returning home: I want to give you my sincerest thanks for planning and handling everything on our Paris trip. It was beyond compare. Everything was excellent in every way. For 12 people to be traveling can be hard and with my lack of time to pay proper attention to the itinerary and travel plans, it could have turned into a disaster in many ways. But your planning and attention to detail made it wonderful. I did not have to worry about a thing before, during, and after. The hotel was marvelous. The restaurants wonderful. The itinerary wonderful. The guides AMAZING! I don't know how to thank you.

Favorite Destinations: To date, I would have to say Antarctica has been my favorite destination.  Very few people have visited this amazing continent.  Those who long to go are adventurous, lifelong learners, abundant wildlife seekers, continent collectors, and those who look for majestic beauty and unspoiled surroundings.  The many species of penguins were amazing to watch and be amongst, and kayaking around icebergs that were the size of buildings was otherworldly.  Antarctica is still so untouched, unblemished and spectacular…I would recommend it to anyone looking for a unique adventure and the experience of a lifetime.

Dream Trip: A two- to three-week trip to experience both Australia and New Zealand.  Australia:  Visit the iconic cities of Melbourne and Sydney with a stop at the Sydney Opera House and a climb to the top of the Sydney Harbour Bridge; snorkel the Great Barrier Reef; visit the mysterious Ayers Rock, aka Uluru; see koalas and kangaroos.  New Zealand:  river rafting in Queenstown; learn about the Maori culture in Rotorua; cruise Milford Sound with its dramatic fjords, waterfalls and mountain peaks…or maybe see it from above by helicopter or seaplane; hike through one of New Zealand’s national parks and visit a glacier; experience the Classic New Zealand Wine Trail and sip the world famous Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc while watching the setting sun surrounded by spectacular scenery.  I think I’ll skip the bungy jumping!

Bucket List to do's:

  1. Australia and New Zealand
  2. Kenya and Tanzania
  3. Gorilla Trekking in Rwanda
  4. Namibia
  5. The Arctic – A polar bear expedition
  6. Circumnavigate Iceland by expedition ship
  7. River cruise during Christmas Markets
  8. Norwegian Fjords
