My career in travel began in 1969
Specialties: Corporate Incentive Travel and Meetings, Custom Group Travel, Exotic Destinations, Unique Destination Activities. Clients included Xerox, General Motors, Clorox, Amway, Wilson Foods, Stauffer Chemical, Mitsubishi and many more.
Personal Travel highlight of a recent trip: Through all the years in the industry, I have always been the person who did the planning and onsite operation of the trip. My wife recently surprised me with a 5 Gold Apple Vacation to Costa Rica. The first trip I’ve been on where I did nothing but enjoy it. Pura Vida!
Favorite thing I try to do when I travel: Visit new venues and sites to offer clients.
Best Travel Advice: Anticipate and Prepare. Whatever you can imagine could happen, may happen. My success in onsite operations and escorting of groups was to anticipate problems that might arise and fix them before the client can ever be effected.
Most memorable Client trip: Escorting a group of 30 ladies in Kenya, the plane picking us up at a small airstrip in the Mara was short a seat. We were several miles from Governors Camp where we’d been staying. The drivers returned to camp as the plane was landing. I put the ladies on the plane and watched the sunset and animals get closer before the rescue plane arrived. Could have been quite exciting.
Favorite Destination: In Europe, Barcelona. In Asia, Hong Kong and Vietnam. For adventure, Africa
Dream Trip: A visit to Socotra Island, Yemen
Bucket List to do’s: Fly a MIG-29, cross the Sahara by camel, organize a camping expedition onto Kukenan-tepui, organize an expedition to the Congo to search for the Mokèlé-mbèmbé.
